Company Overview

TechMan International was founded in 1982 upon the sale of American Optical (a subsidiary of Warner Lambert Company now owned by Pfizer) where its founder, Dr. M. Mahmud Awan, was employed as Group Manager, Corporate Planning Operations. In its initial years, the Company relied on sale of optical products to worldwide customers of Warner Lambert and American Optical.

The Company commenced its Research & Development operations in Charlton, Massachusetts in 1983 and set up production facilities in East Brookfield, Massachusetts in 1984. The company bought the Surgical Microscope and Colposcopy business from Applied Fiberoptics Inc. in 1997.  It acquired the Illumination Fiber and Surgical Headlights business in 1999 from Optim, Inc. 

TechMan has received UL certifications for its existing product portfolio and all of its products carry CSA and CE markings for certified sales in Canada and Europe.  The company is an established brand name in global markets with its products being received favorably by customers such as major hospitals, regional and national distributors, and value added resellers.
